What changes have been made?

Insulation upgrades, new radiators and an air source heat pump (ASHP) were installed in January 2024 through the Home Upgrade Grant. The ASHP replaced the existing oil central heating system.

What have been the approximate energy savings?

Throughout the summer months the cost of heating hot water and all domestic use from the ASHP is approximately £2 per day including VAT. Costs in 2023 for domestic use alone came to £813 including VAT. 

What have been the benefits to you and your home?

The upgraded insulation has reduced the need to increase the temperature during the evenings. The ASHP is always on to modulate the temperature as necessary.
