What changes have been made?

We added two new extensions at the back of our bungalow and fitted underfloor heating, a 16kW Midea air source heat pump, solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, two 5kW Huawei batteries and new radiators in the two spare bedrooms, lounge and study room. We envisaged our home under the theme of ‘working with the sun’ and we carried this out via solar PV panels, sun tunnels and lanterns bringing light into our home. Meanwhile, replanting and adding shaded garden spots allowed some shelter from strong sunshine.

What have been the approximate energy savings?

Our energy bill for the second year living at this bungalow was £575 less than the year before. In January our gas was capped. 

What benefits have there been to you and your home?

Our home is now brighter, and is easier and cheaper to keep warm and comfortable.
