Property details

1960s 3-bed detached home renovated in larch cladding with cavity side walls.

What changes have been made?

The house needed updating so we carried out a fabric first approach to retrofit with minimised cold bridges and effective airtightness. Measures include external wall insulation, triple glazing, solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof and mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) system.

What have been the approximate energy savings?

Thanks to solar measures we see a 95% energy saving during the summer months and 50% during the winter months. Overall, we have seen a 49% decrease in electric consumption.

What have been the benefits to you and your home?

Our home now feels warmer with less draughts and thanks to better ventilation the air quality is excellent, radon levels now safe.
